ALCOHOL-, DRUG-, TOBACCO-FREE ACTIVITIES

The board recognizes contributions of parents, community groups, PTA units, and support organizations and their importance to public education. The board also acknowledges the educational value derived from various activities, such as fund raisers, banquets, meetings, etc., sponsored by these individuals and groups for the benefit of students.

As adults, it is imperative to set an example for students by adhering to rules that are no different from those set for students. In keeping with the school district's zero tolerance policy relative to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, any school-related activity shall be alcohol, drug, and tobacco free when students are present or performing.

To maintain an environment that is conducive to the educational process, the board establishes the following criteria:

  1. The sale of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco at any district-related event associated with the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District or its schools when students are present or performing shall not be allowed.
  2. The use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco by students, parents, staff, or community members at any district-related event associated with the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District or its schools when students are present or performing shall not be allowed.
