DEFERRED MAINTENANCE
It is the
policy of the Board of Education that the district participate in the State
School Deferred Maintenance program.
The district
will maintain a five-year maintenance plan in accordance with State
regulations. The plan will be updated annually to reflect work actually
accomplished and new requirements identified.
Funds at
least in the amount of one-half of one percent (1/2 of 1%) of the district's
General Fund budget less capital outlay and debt service, or the amount
certified by the superintendent of public instruction as "maintenance of
effort," whichever is higher, shall be annually transferred to the restricted
deferred maintenance fund. All funds expended from this fund shall be for items
contained in the approved deferred maintenance plan.
In the event
the state chooses not to continue the deferred maintenance program, the
district shall budget a minimum of one percent (1%) of the General Fund budget
to implement the deferred maintenance plan.
