USE AND SELECTION OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT

 

Use of computer technology to enhance both instructional programs and administrative operations is deemed essential by the Board of Education.

The selection of computer equipment will be standardized based on Board-approved criteria which maximizes expansion and add-on capabilities; maximizes ability to interchange equipment and software; and provides for cost-effective maintenance and repair. Considerations for new equipment shall include compatibility with existing hardware systems, equipment reliability, vendor support, and functional appropriateness of equipment for planned use. Equipment purchases will be based on Board-approved criteria and recommendations of the district computer use steering committee, subject to approval by the superintendent.
