USE AND SELECTION OF COMPUTER
EQUIPMENT
Use of
computer technology to enhance both instructional programs and administrative
operations is deemed essential by the Board of Education.
The selection
of computer equipment will be standardized based on Board-approved criteria
which maximizes expansion and add-on capabilities; maximizes ability to
interchange equipment and software; and provides for cost-effective maintenance
and repair. Considerations for new equipment shall include compatibility with
existing hardware systems, equipment reliability, vendor support, and
functional appropriateness of equipment for planned use. Equipment purchases
will be based on Board-approved criteria and recommendations of the district
computer use steering committee, subject to approval by the superintendent.
