REIMBURSEMENT FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY
USED BY THE SCHOOL
DISTRICT

Unified School District
shall provide limited reimbursement to any person or persons for the loss or
damage by arson, burglary, or vandalism of personal property used by the school
district. Reimbursement shall be made only when written approval for use of
such property has been given and a signed copy given to the Director of
Business prior to the property being brought to school or other district facility.
Such approval must be renewed annually. The value of the property shall be
agreed upon by the person(s) bringing the property to the school and the
administrator at the school or facility responsible for approving use of the
property. The district shall reimburse the owner for the loss or damage
exceeding $50.00; however, total reimbursement by the district shall not exceed
$500.00 for any single instance of loss or damage.
The right of
the owner to district reimbursement shall be subrogated to the right of the
owner to reimbursement from any other source. The district reserves the right
to enforce its subrogation right in any court of competent jurisdiction.
