OPERATION OF SCHOOL BUSES DURING REDUCED VISIBILITY

The Board of Education of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School district is committed to the safety of students, staff and faculty transported in district school buses.

It is the intent of the Board of Education to provide procedures to be utilized by Transportation Department personnel when atmospheric conditions reduce visibility on the roadway to 200 feet or less. These procedures shall also give school bus drivers discretionary authority to discontinue driving if reduced visibility or adverse conditions exist to a degree which creates hazardous driving conditions.
