VANDALISM

 

The parent or guardian of the pupil shall be liable to the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District for all property belonging to the school district loaned to the pupil and not returned upon demand by any employee of the district authorized to make the demand.

Any pupil currently enrolled in a school within the district, who willfully cuts, defaces or otherwise injures in any way any property, real or personal, belonging to the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is subject to suspension or expulsion. The parent or guardian of such pupil shall be liable for all damages so caused by the pupil up to an amount not exceeding $10,000.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District will offer and pay a reward of up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) for information leading to the determination of the identity of, and the apprehension of, any person who willfully damages or destroys any property of the school district. Any person who has willfully damaged or destroyed such property shall be liable for the amount of any reward paid pursuant to this section; and, if he or she is a minor, his or her parent or guardian shall also be liable for the amount.

The amount of the reward will be approximately equivalent to the amount of damages incurred, but in no case shall the reward exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
