HARMFUL AND DESTRUCTIVE USE OF ANIMALS

 

In accordance with state law, students in grades K-12 have the right to refuse or refrain from activities which they feel constitute harmful and destructive use of animals. Parents and students must receive annual notification of this right. The student has the responsibility of notifying the teacher of the moral objection to dissecting or otherwise harming or destroying animals or any part thereof, and this objection must be sustained by a written statement from the parent/guardian. Teachers shall not discriminate against students who exercise their rights under these provisions.
