RELEASED TIME OF STUDENTS FOR RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION

The Board of Education of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District authorizes students, upon receipt of written consent of their parents or guardians, to be excused from school in order to participate in religious exercises or to receive moral or religious instruction at a suitable place away from the school designated by the religious group or church. This instruction shall be in addition and supplementary to the instruction in morals, manners and ethical values taught in the classroom. Wherever possible, the released time instruction shall be arranged at times other than prime instructional periods at the school.

Students shall be excused from school for these purposes no more than one (1) hour per week on no more than four (4) days per month. In each case, the student shall attend school at least the legal minimum school day.
