STUDENT COMPETITION

It is the intent of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education to encourage student competition, which is of value in meeting the district's educational goals and objectives, beyond local campuses. The board further recognizes that it may be necessary that funds be provided from other funding sources such as appropriate individual schools /funds or local parent organizations. The following stipulations must be adhered to:

1. Provisions for the funding of the competition must be provided prior to approval of such trips
2. No student who has earned the privilege shall be prohibited from participating in competition due to personal inability to pay
3. Methods for students to participate who are unable to pay such fee shall protect the privacy of the student and his parent/guardian
