SELECTION AND EVALUATION OF HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT CHAIRPERSONS

 

AND MIDDLE SCHOOL LEAD TEACHERS

 

A.      Selection

High school chairpersons and middle school lead teachers shall be annually recommended by the principal of each school to the Superintendent of Schools for approval by the Board of Education. If, in the opinion of the principal, none of his staff is qualified, a building-level administrator shall be assigned the duties by the principal until the position is filled.

B.     Evaluation

The principal shall evaluate the department chairpersons or lead teachers annually prior to May 1. After the evaluation, the principal shall submit his recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools for approval by the Board of Education.
