The safety and well-being of the students, employees and patrons of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is a primary concern of the board. The policy of the school district shall be to safeguard consistently students, employees, and the public against accidents and injuries. Consistent with this concern for safety, it is the intent of the Board that the California Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) shall be fully implemented.

Specific policies, procedures, and safety practice guidelines shall be maintained. A safety committee shall be established to review safety conditions in the district and to develop regulations and safety measures to be recommended to the superintendent for implementation. These regulations shall be combined in a safety manual and distributed to the employees of the district. Employees shall be required to adhere strictly to these safety regulations without exception.
