ASSIGNMENT, REASSIGNMENT, TRANSFER
A.
Purpose and Scope

It
shall be the policy of the

shall be authorized and made by the personnel officer with the approval of the
superintendent.
B.
General
1.
Care
shall be exercised by the personnel officer to assure that all schools are
equally well staffed with effective teachers.
2.
A
transfer, reassignment, or special assignment may be requested by any employee,
and shall be given due consideration in accordance with board Policy and these
procedures.

Procedure
1.
Voluntary Transfer:
a.
Any
request for a transfer shall be sent to the personnel officer.
b.
The
request shall include preferences as to school, subject discipline, or grade
level.
c.
The
employee who has requested a transfer, and who is qualified for the positions,
will be provided the opportunity to interview for positions which will be
available for the coming school year prior to consideration of personnel new to
the district.
d.
Applications
not acted upon by the Personnel Office on or before August 1 will become
inactive.
2.
Involuntary Transfers:
a.
Involuntary
transfers shall not be punitive in nature.
b.
Involuntary
transfers shall be based upon legitimate educationally-related district needs
as defined by the superintendent or his designee.
c.
The
intent of the Office of Certificated Personnel will be to complete involuntary
transfers prior to August the 20th, whenever possible
d.
Employee
will be notified in writing from the Office of Certificated Personnel when a
transfer has been finalized.
