VOLUNTARY EARLY
RETIREMENT/CONSULTANT PLAN

Purpose and Scope
After 10
years satisfactory service in the

The plan is
designed to encourage continued positive contact with staff members who have
attained expertise in their field and wish to retire at an earlier age. The
educational services contracted will be in the best interest of the children of
the school district.

Procedure
1.
Applications
must be submitted to the Office of Certificated Personnel at least six weeks in
advance of the beginning date.
2.
Persons
electing this program may serve up to 50 days per year.
3.
The
contract will be for one (1) year, renewable each year up to four years or to
age 65, whichever comes first.
4.
Once
a person has elected the consultant contract, the individual could resign at
any time in the future.
5.
The
program will offer contractual educational activities that are mutually agreed
upon by the consultant and the district as being in the best interest of
students.
6.
The
superintendent will designate the assignment of the consultants selected.
7.
Pay
will be granted based upon a per diem rate of the consultant's salary during
the last year of full-time service in the district.
8.
The
maximum salary shall be $5,000 per year.
9.
The
consultants will be evaluated annually in accordance with the district
procedures for the evaluation of certificated personnel.
10. Renewal of each succeeding year's
contract will be based upon a satisfactory performance evaluation of the last
year of service under the consultant plan.
11. The program is not available for new
entrants after July 1 of the current school year.
