LEAVES OF ABSENCE
A.
Purpose and Scope
The Board
of Education has provided leaves of absences for staff members in order that
they:
1.
May
continue to grow professionally
2.
Maintain
their physical health
3.
Have
the emotional security of arranging for absences in the event of emergencies
B.
General
Certificated
Personnel leaves may be granted by the Board of Education upon the
recommendation of the superintendent.

Procedure
1.
All
employees when absent from duty for whatever reason must notify the
superintendent through the designated procedure of their inability to report to
work.
2.
The
procedures are as described in the negotiated Master Certificated Employment
Agreement and these Administrative regulations.
3.
The
superintendent may approve temporary leaves and absences in accordance with
established Board Policy.
4.
All
extended leaves and absences shall require board approval.
5.
All
employees who need to be absent or when absent from duty for whatever reason
must notify the superintendent through the prescribed procedure of their
inability to report to work.
6.
Unexplained
absences or failure to notify the superintendent of an absence will be cause
for a deduction of salary for the time absent.
