CATEGORICAL AIDE/RESTRICTED POSITION
The Placentia-Yorba
Linda Unified School District Board of Education recognizes the goals of the
categorically funded programs to increase parent involvement in the local
education program and the desirability inherent in having parents employed in
such programs assigned to the school attended by their children. To assist in
the implementation of those goals, and in accordance with the provisions of
Education Code Section 45108, the board designates categorically funded
"aide" positions as "Restricted" and limits employment in
those positions to those persons who live within the attendance area of the
school.
Persons
employed in "Restricted" positions are members of the classified
service and acquire permanent status and seniority credit in the restricted
position only after satisfactory completion of the probation period and any
other qualifying examination.
If a
sufficient number of qualified applicants are not available within the school's
attendance area, selection may be made from other qualified applicants.
