HARMFUL AND DESTRUCTIVE USE OF ANIMALS
In accordance with state
law, students in grades K-12 have the right to refuse or refrain from
activities which they feel constitute harmful and destructive use of animals.
Parents and students must receive annual notification of this right. The
student has the responsibility of notifying the teacher of the moral objection
to dissecting or otherwise harming or destroying animals or any part thereof,
and this objection must be sustained by a written statement from the
parent/guardian. Teachers shall not discriminate against students who exercise
their rights under these provisions.
